Deputy Clerk

The Town of Canton is seeking qualified applicants for the 32-40 hour/week position of Deputy Clerk. This position is responsible for providing a variety of routine clerical and administrative support to the Town Clerk and various town committees. Duties include but are not limited to tax collecting & lien procedures, sewer billing, managing elections, issuing licenses and registrations, handling vital records, and grant writing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, great organizational skills, competent computer skills, the ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, and the ability to meet deadlines. Prior municipal experience and knowledge of TRIO is helpful, but not required. Grant writing experience desired.  Pay is based on experience and qualifications.
